Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
The National Park Service turns 100 years old this year, so to celebrate all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee have offered free admission on 16 days of 2016.

Today is one of those 16 days: National Public Lands Day.  This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy a crisp, fall day at one of the 124 participating parks

National Public Lands Day is "the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands," seeking to "connect people to public lands in their community, inspire environmental stewardship, and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation, and general health." Volunteer activities may involve removing invasive species, picking up trash, or maintaining trails. Click here to find a volunteer event near you.

Whether you head out to enjoy the recreational opportunities that the parks provide or choose to spend the day giving back to your community, you're bound to have an experience you won't forget!

If you can't make it out today, you still have one more chance this year to visit these stunning parks admission free on Veterans Day, November 11th.
